AT THE ART TABLE

Getting ready for a first art class.

Create with Kori · 2 minute read

A few simple ways to help a young artist arrive feeling comfortable, curious, and ready to give something new a try.

Bring curiosity, leave room for a little mess.

Trying a new class can feel exciting and unfamiliar at the same time. Talk about it as a chance to explore materials and make something personal. Your child does not need a promise that their picture will be perfect.

Choose comfortable clothing that can handle paint. For the Black Friday Santa’s Helpers class, all supplies are included. Details for other classes will be shared as they become available.

Check the details together.

Before attending, check your confirmed class time and the arrival information from Kori. The Black Friday painting event is on November 27, 2026, with sessions from noon to 2 pm and 3 to 5 pm for ages 5–12. Each session is $10 per person.

Submitting the website form sends a class request. Your place is pending until Kori confirms it and shares the payment and arrival arrangements.

Let the finished work tell its own story.

After class, ask what your child tried, which part they enjoyed, or what they might like to make next. Give them a chance to explain the choices in their artwork.

A first class is a beginning. The most interesting next step might be another painting, a new drawing idea, or a question to bring to the next visit.
